Make A Quantum Leap By Stepping Into the New YOU

Sometimes it can seem overwhelming to even contemplate change.  Yes, we all desire positive change in one form or another, yet many stay stuck. The foundational starting point to success in any area is imagining or creating the new you.  Take a few moments to really envision the person  you want to be; no matter how big or small your dream my be.  Imagine how you will feel in that new body, new situation or new mindset. Take a moment to feel the emotions of how you and life around you will change in a positive way.

Who are you going to be when you achieve your goals? How would you feel?  What can you do right now to create that feeling and emotion? Create the emotions of achieving your goals, and you will then have the motivation and the actions necessary that will attract the outcome. If you want to lose 10 pounds so you can feel sexy – what can you do right now to feel that way? Pamper yourself with a candlelit bubble bath? Whip out your best dress, get your hair done and go on a date with your man?

Instead of waiting for the “goal” to happen to you, why not step into the new YOU? Try acting from that place, and integrate the new identity into every cell of your body. How does it feel to act like the new YOU? If it feels good, stay there. If it feels off, maybe you want to revisit your goals to see if they are truly in alignment with how you feel about you deep inside. You are an inherently beautiful, worthwhile and valuable person..know that you deserve everything good in life. If you are feeling like you are having one foot on the gas pedal and one foot on the break, ask yourself, “Do I truly believe that I can become this new person?” If there is any doubt, any little voice in your head that says you can’t, see what beliefs are holding you back from living as the new YOU. Until all of you are on board (conscious, subconscious and your body), you effort will be met with frustration and the often repetition of starting over again.

Your action item: List 3 things you can do right now to achieve your desired feelings and emotions… and do them often!

Achieve Your Goals With Impactful Actions = Vision, Action, Results! Now you have decided on your vision and what you want to achieve, you have to make it happen! Lasting changes does not come from sporadic, half-hearted actions. They come from commitment that delivers consistent action. You cannot become the next, new and improved version of YOU if you make a decision from where you are today (it’s those decisions that keep you stuck!).

Make a decision from where you want to be – ask yourself, what would that new YOU do? Decide to commit to taking consistent action to achieve the results that you desire. Based on the decision, ask yourself “what action do I need to take based on that decision?” Let’s say you want to lose 10 pounds and feel confident. Your decision is to stop eating processed foods and add more whole foods into your diet. Some of the actions that can support this decision can include working with a health coach to help you make the changes, going through your pantry to throw out unhealthy food items, or make healthy grocery shopping a weekly routine.

Your action item: Write down your decision and then list 3 specific actions that you commit to taking consistently to help you achieve your goals.

When are you going to be taking those actions? Schedule them on your calendar! Taking consistent action is key to your success.  Every day go back to that vision of the new you and watch what happens.  No excuses, no procrastination.  Don’t let fear choose for you. As Nike says “Just Do It.”
