A Pill You Should Pop
When we cook, process and refine our foods, we destroy a critical part of what helps create optimal health – enzymes. Enzymes are the life force of our bodies and are one of the most important ‘workers’ if you will, in the human body that does everything from helping us breathe to digestion. They are needed for every chemical reaction that takes place in the human body. Without enzymes, no activity at all would take place and we would cease to exist.
Enzymes are tiny protein molecules that break up large food molecules into smaller units that are absorbed into the cells. Enzymes act as a catalyst and more. When the body has an abundance of enzymes, it can protect itself and help to repair the damage in the body. They play a critical role in digestion and nutrient assimilation, in immune response, cognition, cellular detox, and longevity among other things.
Without enzymes, we are more prone to aging quicker and ill health. A lack of digestive enzymes can create a plethora of conditions such as: arthritis, bloating, obesity, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, heart burn, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and much more.
Enzymes are powerful enough to operate every function in a human body but at the same time they are fragile where lack of freshness, alcohol and heat can destroy them. Enzymes are killed at 118 degrees, so the more raw food or lightly cooked food you eat, the more enzymes you will take in.
Jon Barron, author of Lessons from the Miracle Doctors, presented the essence of the late Dr. Edward Howell’s message: “A person’s life span is directly related to the exhaustion of their enzyme potential. The use of food enzymes decreases that rate of exhaustion, and thus results in a longer, healthier, and more vital life.” ~Natural News
As we age, our enzyme reserves become depleted. So begin today to create an enzyme surplus in your body by eating as many raw fruits, veggies and foods as you can. Also give serious consideration to taking an enzyme supplement. Both of these actions will take you one step further in creating a powerhouse of optimal health for you.
