7 Tips to Burn Belly Fat on a Thin Person

Thin people can have belly fat? Yes! Many people believe that only fat people need to reduce their bellies. Nothing could be further from the truth. There are many people who are obviously thin, yet carry a fat belly. In fact, according the American Medical Association, 1 in 4 thin people have pre-diabetes.

Yes, thin people need to work on reducing their belly fat but this does not mean spot reducing with exercise such as with ab crunches – this will not do the trick. No, this means adjusting your nutrition as your #1 one means of beating belly bloat.

Here are your 7 tips to burn belly fat:

  • Eat a high protein breakfast such as two eggs or a whey protein shake.  Studies show that two eggs in the morning are highly effective in stopping hunger and cravings throughout the morning by balancing your blood sugar and reducing low-level inflammation – the core cause of weight gain.
  • Stop eating sugar.  Sugar is weight gains best friend!  Sugar triggers insulin and insulin is your fat storage hormone and likes to make sure it stays put.
  • Reduce excess overall carbohydrate intake – both healthy and unhealthy.  Carbohydrates in all forms, if eaten in excess put your blood sugar on a roller coaster ride and again, trigger insulin.  Stay away from processed/refined carbohydrates/foods.
  • Take the right supplements.  At the very least, invest in a good multivitamin, omega-3 supplement and vitamin D.
  • Make sure you eat plenty of lean animal protein such as chicken, fish, and eggs with every  meal. Also add in nuts, seeds, beans, vegetables.  Your plate should have 1/4 lean protein, 1/4 carbohydrate and 1/2 the plate should be veggies.
  • Do not drink any sodas, juices or sweetened drinks.  Opt for water or sodas that contain the natural sweetener stevia.
  • Drink water.  Water boosts your metabolism by 30% up to an hour after you have ingested it.  When you are mildly dehydrated, cellular function slows down and this means your metabolism.

Follow the above tips and watch the fat melt away!
