2017 Resolutions May Be Fading Fast, But Capture Them Here!

You may have made your 2017 New Year’s Resolutions or Intentions and they are fading or losing their luster…fast.

If you allow me, I’m guessing you have been entertaining those thoughts about how HARD it is to keep motivated? You are not alone. Motivation is a very important fundamental to creating the fitness, weight loss and health success you desire. It is not so challenging to set the intentions, but time goes by and those very important life changes you wish to make seem to drift away oh so subtly.

The good news is that you no longer need to stay stuck in that whirlpool of watching your motivation slip away.

Motivation can easily be captured, either in the whirlpool or within your own mind by changing your thoughts. Thoughts are really the key because, you see, it is our thoughts that determine the actions we take in life. That is right. Let me repeat: our thoughts dictate what actions we take in our lives, whether positive or negative.

Once you change your perspective and really look at your life differently, NOT the same way you have been looking at it, you will take different actions.

So how to change? Begin by going back to your “WHY.” Why did you want weight loss, that fit body, those hard rock abs in the first place? Next, when you think about your “why,” add the initial excitement and emotion to it. Factor that in because it is the emotion that will take you to success.

“In order to change your behavior, you need to trust yourself”

So, bring in your emotional component that will help drive you to success and you will travel that road. Make sure it is what you really want and then just do it. Be consistent, take actions that support your desire and keep that desire strong by focusing on the emotional reason of why you want that resolution or intention.

Additionally, one of the top reasons people give up on their goals is that their behavior does not match their expectations and therefore they lose faith in themselves to pull it off and thus, promote the downward spiral of self-fulfilling self-doubt.  Stop worrying about the behavior and focus on your self-trust.  Really.  Research shows that once you pick just one action and follow-through, you are demonstrating to your brain that you can do this thing.  The key is to trust yourself and be consistent with the trust.  This creates confidence that brings in multiple other success behaviors.

Here’s to your success!
